Monday, October 17th, 2011 (31st Day of School)

This week is Education Week! There are lots of things going on in the school this week.
Monday students will have the opportunity to watch a magician's show.
Tuesday night is open house at Springside School from 6:30-8:30. Come out and see what's happening in the school!
Wednesday is Subway lunch day.
Thursday each class will have a presentation on the Willow Books for this year. These are the books that are nominated for the Willow Awards. Mrs. Raine will be here to present and read some of the books to the classes.
Friday is star buddy activities. At the end of the day, students will read with their star buddies and take part in a few activities!

Don't forget that it is also spirit week! Each day has a different dress up theme for the week. Dress up and show your school spirit!

October 10th-14th is Fire Safety Week. We have been learning about fire saftey in health class at school. We are talking about how to react if there was ever a fire at home or school and some ways to prevent fires at home or at school. Below is a link to Sparky's Fire Safety website. Wednesday, October 5th (24th Day of School)

Last week was Senior's Week. Our class was invited to come spend some time with some of the seniors at the drop in centre in Springside. Today, we went for a short visit where we had time to play some games, share some stories and have a snack. We played a math game with them called Salute. This game helps us reinforce our addition and subtraction facts to ten. We taught our friends at the drop in centre how to play and then we all played together. Here are some photos of us with them:
