The Grade 1/2 classroom will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Monday, February 14th. We will have a class party in the afternoon. Students are welcome to bring Valentines to pass out to the entire class if they wish, however, not required. I do ask that if children decide to bring Valentines, that they do so for the whole class, not just for a few friends.
Jump Rope for Heart will be held at the rink on Friday, February 18th in the afternoon. This will be the last day of school before the February break.

100th Day of School Celebrations!
On Friday, February 4th, the Grade 1 and 2 students will be celebrating the 100th day of school! Students will be celebrating this day by participating in 100th day celebration activities with their classmates and playing games that encourage counting to 100.
On the 100th day of school, students are asked to dress up as they would if they were 100 years old. Some ideas might include wearing Grandma’s shoes or hat or Grandpa’s tie or farm hat. Feel free to be as creative as you like! Students are also asked to bring in a collection of 100 items. Some examples of this include attaching 100 pennies to a piece of cardboard, 100 pieces of Lego built together or 100 jelly beans in a jar. There will be prizes for the most creative ideas and the most creative way to display it. Please ensure that your son or daughter brings this to school on the morning of the 4th.

Tuesday, January 25th (93rd Day of School)
There will not be any spelling this week, due to the tubing and ski trips, as well as the PD day on Friday. The new set of spelling words will come home Monday, January 31st.
Keep watching for a post with pictures from the ski trip and tubing trip. They will be uploaded soon!
Skating at the rink begins this week. We will be skating on January 26, 27, February 2, 3, and 4. Kindergarten to Grade 4 will be going skating from 10:15 to 11:15am. All students will need to wear a CSA approved helmet to wear to ensure safety. Please ensure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather as we will be walking to and from the rink on these days.
